This year’s field was exceptionally strong, and our judges had to make some difficult decisions.

The 44th Earle P. Charlton Lecture and Poster Competition took place November 13-14, 2019. This year, for the first time, we received more submissions than could be accommodated in the poster session.

The competition featured student presenters from the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences; the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine; Tufts University School of Medicine; and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. The competition was followed by a keynote lecture by Dr. Carla Shatz of Stanford University, whose talk, “Synapses Lost and Found: Developmental Critical Periods and Alzheimer’s Disease,” was a fascinating capstone to the event. Thank you to everyone who submitted an abstract, everyone who presented a poster, and our dedicated faculty judges. The entries this year were excellent, and the judges had their work cut out for them.
