Research synopsis:

Our lab studies the role of vascular mineralocorticoid receptor (MR)-regulated genes in vascular function and disease. I am focusing on the mechanism by which MR in macrophages contributes to the initiation and propagation of cardiovascular disease in the setting of common risk factors. I am also working to study the effect that targeted therapies used in cancer have on the phosphoproteome and epigenome in specific cell types to explain differences in vascular toxicities among and within drug classes. The ultimate goal is use this approach to discover drugs that can serve as co-treatments and protect cancer patients from iatrogenic cardiovascular disease.
