Research synopsis:

I am studying the function of MPP1, a conserved scaffolding protein associate with the membrane. MPP1 is a palmitoylated peripheral membrane protein that interacts with a variety of other proteins. I am interested in the functional and organizational role of MPP1 by teasing out its interaction partners, and how the protein fits into more complex processes such as membrane organization, cell polarization, and signaling pathways. The research is ultimately aimed at better characterizing the role MPP1 plays within the cell and how aberrations can lead to pathogenesis.
